About

My name is Tom Thorpe and I have been admiring beautiful architecture and structures for years. At Purdue where I attended college, I met a man named Rob Agrell who shared my fascination. Upon graduation, we went our separate ways but kept in touch and traveled a couple times together, once to China and another time to Bavaria in Germany.

Along the way through life, we got to talking about maybe creating a blog to share our stories and pictures that we had accumulated. And over time Agrell And Thorpe was born. However, soon after starting up the site and before we really had a chance to collaborate and gather our thoughts and knowledge together, Rob, who had followed in the footsteps of his father Alfonse, was deployed on his third tour in Afghanistan and became unavailable.

So I took in upon myself to try to flesh out the site and put out a little info. Rob and I have a lot of friends whose positive input and encouragement were the driver for putting it together, and many have companies whose sites now link to ours to drive traffic our way (at least that is my very limited understanding of it). I am not a web guy.

I hope to at least have some fun and share a few stories and pics for friends and anyone else to enjoy. When Rob returns, I’m sure he will jump into the fray and start adding stuff of his own. In the mean time I will do my best to get meaningful stuff out here for our followers to enjoy.
